Greetings! I am so pleased to find that there is a Buddhist group in Aberystwyth, as there is nothing in my present area. We often listen to recordings of Alan Watts. We are planning to move to Aberystwyth in about 2 years, once our place (Welsh borders) is in saleable condition. I have been researching Aber on the net with my partner and although we’ve been briefly, we will be coming for a better look soon – maybe even next week. It seems like a great place with a lot of opportunities and ticks quite a few of our boxes. I hope we will tick some boxes too, and make some good friends!
    Meanwhile Best Wishes HL

  2. SUDIP CHAKMA says:

Dear Friends of Aberystwyth Buddhist Group,

Subject: An Earnest Appeal in The Name of Lord Buddha for construction of a Hermitage.

In inviting the subject cited above, I, on behalf of the THE ULTIMATE TRUTH PREACHING MISSION, ( a socio-religious organization ) have the honour to state that the Mahabodhi Buddhist Temple was established in the month of June, 2018 by a local Managing Committee with a very temporary structure.

The village Tuichawng-II is located in south west corner of Mizoram India near Indo-Bangladesh Border. Most of the villagers are CHAKMA in tribe and BUDDHIST by religion. About 65 families live at Tuichawng and surrounding villages.

Due to unavailability of fertile land in the locality, they can not produce enough crops for their livelihood. So, they live a miserable life just hand to mouth.

Being poor, our people can not contribute fund to develop the Buddhist monastery.

The villagers are trying to re-build it with concrete structure. An small amount has already been gathered which is not enough.

It has become very difficult to gather more fund from the poor Buddhist family’s in the village.

Therefore, I, on behalf of the Buddhist people of this locality, do appeal your generous honour to look into the matter sympathetically and come forward to provide us financial assistance for the further development and construction of the Buddhist Monastery mentioned above and as well as to give us suggestion in in promoting Buddhism here.

By making a donation to your ability, you are indeed lending a hand to continue this precious effort to spread the lucid word of the Lord Gauthama Buddha.

For the act of your kindness, we shall remain ever grateful to you.

    With Metta and loving kindness.
    Sudip Chakma,

Coordinator of The Ultimate Truth Preaching Mission
    &
    Advisor for
Mahabodhi Buddhist Temple Management Committee, Tuichawng,
